• Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) announced an indefinite postponement of Digital Thailand Big Bang: Digital Station scheduled for December 26–27, 2020 until further notice due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

December 21, 2020, depa Building Ladprao - Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of depa, said the depa indefinitely postponed the launch of Digital Thailand Big Bang: Digital Station, which is scheduled to take place December 26 – 27 at Siam Square Soi 3, Sifah Siam and Siam Square Soi 7 due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the rapidly growing number of COVID-19 infection cases in Samut Sakhon and certain areas in Bangkok.
“depa considered that the original schedule is not appropriate to organize the event where there will be large gatherings of people and it might jeopardize health s
afety of all participants and visitors and widely affect society. Therefore, the depa decided to indefinitely postpone the event or until the COVID-19 transmission situation is improved. It is for the sake of safety of all stakeholders and to allay public concerns about the spread of the virus. It is also a social responsibility and for the interest of the country,” said the president/CEO of the depa.
Digital Thailand Big Bang: Digital Station is the collaboration between the depa and Chulalongkorn University to launch Digital Station: Siam Square, aiming to showcase digital-driven activities and solutions to raise awareness of the advantage of digital technology and innovation. “Digital Station: Siam Square” is scheduled to kick off in September 2021 and will continue throughout the year.
